IF:

Let’s see how they introduce themselves:

 

Nelsi:

Hello. My name is Nelsi Kay, the salon manager.

Dori:

Hello, I’m Dori New. Pleased to meet you Mrs Kay.

Nelsi:

Miss New, this is John Help, my assistant. He is your boss and responsible for the Barber store.

John:

Miss New, I’m delighted to meet you.

Dori:

Nice to meet you Mr Help.

Nelsi:

Miss New, welcome to our team.

 

5. Useful phrases

“How do you do?” isn’t really a question; it just means “Encantado”.

When introducing yourself or other people in a formal way use title plus name and surname. You can use title plus surname as well.

IF: = informal

F: = formal

 

I’m (I am) … = Yo soy …

name = nombre

surname  = apellido

nice = agradable (lindo), valiente

pleased = encantado, alegre, contento

to introduce = introducir

to let = permitir, dejar

myself = yo mismo, mí mismo

sure = por supuesto

to meet = conocerse, encontrar, reunirse

I’d like … (I would like …) Me gustaría /  desearía …

Mr = Sr. (Caballero)

Mrs = Sra. (Señora)

Miss = Srta. (Señorita)

happy = contento, feliz, satisfecho

might = podría (verbo modal, auxiliary)

to response = responder

to hear = oír
